Day to day you will check alignment with measuring gauges after a structural pull; feather-edge old paint and prime bare metal before respray; pull out deep dents with a slide hammer or stud welder; knock out dents and creases using a panel hammer and dolly; treat rust, apply seam sealer and underbody protection. Ideal candidate: • Trade certificate in auto body repair an advantage • Confident reading insurance estimates and damage reports • Good eye for panel gaps and body lines Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
