Trowel-trade bricklayer • Chester County, South Carolina

Immediate opening: we are hiring a trowel-trade bricklayer in Chester County, South Carolina. You will work on a scaffolded high-rise site. On the job you will handle: • Brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Laying bricks to the line, level and plumb • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays • Building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation You should have: • Able to lay to line, level and plumb consistently • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage • Proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. $150 per day, negotiable for the right hands.
