Tailor machinist wanted in Derby

Now hiring: we are hiring a tailor machinist in Derby, England. On the job you will handle: • Stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges • Attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet • Match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching You should have: • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • Can hit the daily piece-rate target consistently • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance At least 5 year(s) in a similar role.
