You should have: • Valid HGV/LGV Class 1 (C+E) licence • Valid digital tachograph card The role involves: • Plan routes and rest stops in line with driving-hours rules • Report defects and book the unit in for servicing • Couple and uncouple the trailer and check the fifth-wheel lock • Check tyre pressures, engine oil, coolant and brake fluid levels • Operate tail-lifts and pump trucks during loading and unloading Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
