Rigger wanted in Cheshire East

Immediate opening: we are hiring a rigger in Cheshire East, England. The job is at a power plant. Day to day you will inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use; read lift plans and method statements before starting; attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks; calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift; secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists; guide loads through tight openings into their final position. What we are looking for: • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles • Willing to work shifts, weekends and outdoors in all weather Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
