Restoration bricklayer • Washington County, Tennessee

Immediate opening: we are hiring a restoration bricklayer in Washington County, Tennessee. You will be based on a new-build development. Ideal candidate: • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) Day-to-day duties: • Bedding in air bricks, weep holes and wall starters • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod • Raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish • Building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation • Brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
