Gang bricklayer — San Luis Obispo County

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a gang bricklayer in San Luis Obispo County, California. You will be based on a scaffolded high-rise site. What we are looking for: • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage • Proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) On a typical shift you will installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays; cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder; raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish; spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel; building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses; forming arches, piers and reveals around openings. 1+ years on the tools preferred.
