Vacancy available: we are hiring a fettler in Richmond County, North Carolina. On the job you will handle: • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring Requirements: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew.
