Join our team: GMAW welder (Iowa)

Vacancy available: we are hiring a GMAW welder in Pocahontas County, Iowa. You will work at a pipe and tank fabrication yard. Day-to-day duties: • Strike and hold a stable short-circuit or spray-transfer arc • Control distortion with a balanced welding sequence • Lay stringer and weave beads on fillet and butt joints • Read fabrication drawings and weld symbols • Check welds for porosity, undercut and lack of penetration • Weld in flat, horizontal and vertical-up positions Requirements: • Comfortable welding mild steel, stainless and aluminium • Able to grind, fit-up and tack independently Rotating shifts. $3,900 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
