Argon welder wanted in Manchester

We are recruiting: we are hiring an argon welder in Manchester, England. You will work on an industrial construction site. On the job you will handle: • Select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding • Set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions • Strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode • Set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal Requirements: • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Valid welder certification (ASME IX / ISO 9606 an advantage) Rotating shifts.
