Requirements: • Comfortable standing long shifts in a hot, humid environment • Sound knowledge of fabric types and correct heat settings The role involves: • Spray water or starch to set sharp creases on trousers and shirts • Clean and descale the iron soleplate and steam vents • Keep the boiler topped up and hold steady steam pressure • Give each garment a final press before packing • Operate the steam press and vacuum table to finish garments • Sort bundles by fabric, shade and order number Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
