We are recruiting: we are hiring a gang bricklayer in Southampton, England. You will be based on a scaffolded high-rise site. Ideal candidate: • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day • Proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks • Own trowel, spirit level and basic hand tools On a typical shift you will building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses; building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation; mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser; pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints; brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go.
