Great opportunity: we are hiring a trowel-trade bricklayer in Carroll County, Iowa. You will work on a commercial construction site. Requirements: • Own trowel, spirit level and basic hand tools • Reliable timekeeping and able to hit daily brick targets • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) The role involves brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go; raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish; cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder; bedding in air bricks, weep holes and wall starters; building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation; laying bricks to the line, level and plumb. 2+ years on the tools preferred.
