Vacancy available: we are hiring a hoist operator in Deer Lodge County, Montana. You will work at a container port and shipping yard. Day-to-day duties: • Rig and sling loads using slings, shackles and spreader beams • Read and interpret the load chart before every lift • Hoist, slew and lower loads smoothly and under control • Carry out pre-start checks on the crane, wire ropes and hook block • Grease the slew ring and inspect the wire rope for broken strands Requirements: • Good depth perception and hand-eye coordination • Understanding of hand and radio signals • Able to read load charts and lifting plans Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
