Pipe TIG welder • Morgan County, Illinois

We are recruiting: we are hiring a pipe TIG welder in Morgan County, Illinois. You will work at a pipe-fitting and pressure-vessel shop. You should have: • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • 2+ years' hands-on experience with argon/TIG welding The role involves: • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
