Now hiring: we are hiring a pipe tig welder in Franklin County, Pennsylvania. The job is in a pipe-spool fabrication yard. What we are looking for: • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection On a typical shift you will weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion; read the WPS and weld to the specified parameters; back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring); prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run. Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough. Full-time, day shift. On-the-job training and a clear path to grow. $3,800 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
