Steel fixing chargehand • Nottoway County, Virginia

Vacancy available: we are hiring a steel fixing chargehand in Nottoway County, Virginia. You will lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors; assemble column and beam cages on the bench; tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers; place main bars and distribution bars to the marked spacing; bend bars to shape on a bar bending machine; set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift. What we are looking for: • Confident tying with a tie hook and handling binding wire • Physically fit for heavy lifting and long spells bending and kneeling • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough. $27 per hour, negotiable for the right hands. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
