Fabricator-welder • Muscatine County, Iowa

Great opportunity: we are hiring a fabricator-welder in Muscatine County, Iowa. You will be based at a busy sheet-metal workshop. Day-to-day duties: • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Carry out 6G pipe welds where required • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions • Prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run • Set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator Requirements: • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Proven experience with TIG/GTAW on stainless and aluminium 6+ years on the tools preferred. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Part-time with flexible hours. Walk-in interviews this week.
