Immediate opening: we are hiring a safety officer in Houghton County, Michigan. You should have: • Confident enough to halt unsafe work on the spot • Physically fit for full-site inspections on foot Day to day you will take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry; stop unsafe work and brief the supervisor on corrective action; inspect scaffolding, full-body harnesses and lifelines for work at height; check PPE such as helmets, goggles, gloves and ear plugs and issue replacements.
