Immediate opening: we are hiring a foundry operative in Union County, Georgia. The job is at an aluminium die-casting plant. Ideal candidate: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Basic grinding and fettling skills On the job you will handle: • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
