Now hiring: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Oregon County, Missouri. Requirements: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal Day to day you will check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges. At least 3 year(s) in a similar role. Six days a week, one day off. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Walk-in interviews this week.
