Offshore rigger — City of Suffolk

Now hiring: we are hiring an offshore rigger in City of Suffolk, Virginia. You will select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight; take part in toolbox talks and pre-lift briefings; inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use; carry out daily checks on cranes, hoists and lifting tackle; tag and quarantine any damaged or out-of-date rigging gear; check sling angles to stay within the working load limit. What we are looking for: • Proven experience as a rigger on construction or industrial sites • Ability to read lift plans and rigging diagrams • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles We offer $6,500 per project plus benefits.
