Urgent requirement: we are hiring a steel fixer in Knox County, Missouri. The job is on a civil engineering bridge and roads site. Day-to-day duties: • Cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder • Tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers • Place main bars and distribution bars to the marked spacing • Check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour • Lap and splice bars to the specified lap length You should have: • Able to read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Aware of concrete cover and tolerance requirements Full-time with occasional weekends.
