Sand plant operator — South Central Connecticut Planning Region

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a sand plant operator in South Central Connecticut Planning Region, Connecticut. The job is at a busy iron foundry. Requirements: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding Day-to-day duties: • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch Rotating shifts. Meals and transport allowance provided. We offer $2,600 per month plus benefits. Walk-in interviews this week.
