Ideal candidate: • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination • Able to pass a weld test on the spot The role involves: • Inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer 3+ years on the tools preferred.
