Steel fixer wanted in Linn County

Now hiring: we are hiring a steel fixer in Linn County, Iowa. You will be based at a rebar fabrication workshop. Ideal candidate: • Physically fit for heavy lifting and long spells bending and kneeling • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites • Aware of concrete cover and tolerance requirements On a typical shift you will lift and land prefabricated cages with the crane and banksman; lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors; tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers; assemble column and beam cages on the bench. 3+ years on the tools preferred. Meals and transport allowance provided. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
