Foundry operative • Mercer County, Missouri

Vacancy available: we are hiring a foundry operative in Mercer County, Missouri. You will be based in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Ideal candidate: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings On a typical shift you will shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects. Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough. Six days a week, one day off. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Contact us to fix an interview.
