Fettler — Kodiak Island Borough

Great opportunity: we are hiring a fettler in Kodiak Island Borough, Alaska. Ideal candidate: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling On a typical shift you will mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring. 3+ years on the tools preferred.
