Great opportunity: we are hiring a banksman in Carroll County, Illinois. You will be based in a heavy machinery workshop. On the job you will handle: • Tag and quarantine any damaged or out-of-date rigging gear • Read lift plans and method statements before starting • Select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight • Take part in toolbox talks and pre-lift briefings • Secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists • Inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles • Proven experience as a rigger on construction or industrial sites • Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces 4+ years on the tools preferred.
