Safety officer — Madison County

We are recruiting: we are hiring a safety officer in Madison County, Alabama. You will be based at a manufacturing plant. What we are looking for: • Clear spoken delivery for toolbox talks and inductions • Confident enough to halt unsafe work on the spot Your main tasks: • Run fire drills and check extinguishers, hydrants and alarm points • Audit housekeeping and barricading around excavations and open edges • Take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry • Check PPE such as helmets, goggles, gloves and ear plugs and issue replacements • Investigate near-misses and incidents and file root-cause reports At least 1 year(s) in a similar role.
