Now hiring: we are hiring an escalator technician in City of Suffolk, Virginia. You will be based at a shopping mall with escalators and lifts. Day to day you will measure rope tension and check for broken strands; install guide rails, brackets and counterweight frames in the hoistway; set and test the overspeed governor and safety gear; service the traction motor, brake and gearbox; run load and overload tests with test weights; mount and align landing doors, sills and car door operators. Requirements: • Willing to join the on-call/emergency breakdown rota • Ability to read electrical and wiring schematics Part-time with flexible hours. On-the-job training and a clear path to grow.
