Now hiring: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Polk County, Tennessee. You will be based in a non-ferrous casting shop. Requirements: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling The role involves: • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch $19 per hour, negotiable for the right hands. A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
