TIG welder • El Dorado County, California

We are recruiting: we are hiring a TIG welder in El Dorado County, California. You will be based at an automotive body and exhaust shop. You should have: • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces Your main tasks: • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size • Inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush • Read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing At least 3 year(s) in a similar role.
