Now hiring: we are hiring a brick mason in McPherson County, South Dakota. Your main tasks: • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge • Erecting and working off trestles and scaffold lifts • Spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel • Brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go • Laying bricks to the line, level and plumb • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder Requirements: • Reliable timekeeping and able to hit daily brick targets • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. Meals and transport allowance provided. Full-time with occasional weekends. Walk-in interviews this week.
