Vacancy available: we are hiring a pipe tig welder in City of York, England. You should have: • Own basic hand tools and PPE • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances Day to day you will weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges; carry out 6G pipe welds where required; set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator; strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions; run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints.
