You should have: • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols On the job you will handle: • Keep the arc length and travel speed consistent • Read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks • Clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush Full-time with occasional weekends.
