TIG welder — Columbia County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a TIG welder in Columbia County, Wisconsin. You will work at a pipe-fitting and pressure-vessel shop. Ideal candidate: • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols • Able to pass a weld test on the spot • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces Your main tasks: • Tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run • Select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool • Read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
