Requirements: • Able to work to deadlines in a busy workshop • Knowledge of common hardware systems such as espagnolette and friction hinges • Able to read cutting lists and fabrication drawings Day-to-day duties: • Take site measurements of openings before fabrication • Drill drainage and pressure-equalisation slots in the outer frame • Check the frame for square by measuring the diagonals • Cut uPVC profiles to size on a double-mitre saw at 45 degrees • Fit espagnolette locking gear, friction hinges, handles and keeps to the sash Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
