Urgent requirement: we are hiring an aluminium TIG welder in Carroll County, Maryland. You will be based at a pipe-fitting and pressure-vessel shop. You should have: • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination On a typical shift you will sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size; select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel; TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise; inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut; strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal.
