Fabricator-welder — Putnam County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a fabricator-welder in Putnam County, Illinois. What we are looking for: • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols The role involves strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal; grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise; run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec; select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel; inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut. At least 5 year(s) in a similar role. Part-time with flexible hours. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Walk-in interviews this week.
