Great opportunity: pipe tig welder (North Carolina)

Now hiring: we are hiring a pipe tig welder in Moore County, North Carolina. You will work at a stainless steel fabrication shop. Your main tasks: • Select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp • Strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode Ideal candidate: • Proven experience with TIG/GTAW on stainless and aluminium • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection Full-time with occasional weekends.
