Vacancy available: argon welding operator (Kentucky)

Vacancy available: we are hiring an argon welding operator in Trigg County, Kentucky. The job is at a pipe-fitting and pressure-vessel shop. Day-to-day duties: • Select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut • Grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish You should have: • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage Six days a week, one day off.
