Ideal candidate: • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces On the job you will handle: • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding At least 4 year(s) in a similar role.
