The role involves fix and strip shuttering and formwork for beams and columns; dig foundation trenches and pits with pick and shovel; clear debris and sweep the slab before the next pour; erect and dismantle scaffolding and pass materials up; set out levels with line and plumb under the mason's direction; cure freshly laid concrete by sprinkling water for several days.
