Safety officer — Buchanan County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a safety officer in Buchanan County, Iowa. You will be based on a high-rise building project. You should have: • Clear spoken delivery for toolbox talks and inductions • Sound knowledge of local OSH and factory act regulations On the job you will handle: • Verify lifting gear, slings, shackles and crane test certificates • Record accident statistics and keep the safety logbook up to date • Ensure MSDS/SDS sheets are on hand for every chemical on site • Take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry • Carry out toolbox talks with the crew before each shift • Audit housekeeping and barricading around excavations and open edges Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
