Join our team: we are hiring a GTAW welder in Wasco County, Oregon. The job is on a structural steel site. On the job you will handle: • Inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel • Read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool Requirements: • Able to pass a weld test on the spot • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work At least 6 year(s) in a similar role.
