Immediate opening: we are hiring a brick and block layer in City of Buena Vista, Virginia. The role involves building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses; spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel; erecting and working off trestles and scaffold lifts; setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge; brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go; raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish. Ideal candidate: • Able to lay to line, level and plumb consistently • CSCS card or willingness to obtain one • Own trowel, spirit level and basic hand tools Six days a week, one day off.
