Immediate opening: we are hiring an argon welder in Sir Powys, Wales. The job is in a pharmaceutical piping facility. You should have: • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Valid welder certification (ASME IX / ISO 9606 an advantage) The role involves inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion; weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions; set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal; prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run; run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints. Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough. £2,500 per project, negotiable for the right hands. Performance bonus on top of base pay. Rotating shifts.
