Immediate opening: we are hiring a steel fixing chargehand in Greene County, North Carolina. You will be based on a civil engineering bridge and roads site. The role involves lift and land prefabricated cages with the crane and banksman; fix cover blocks and spacers to maintain concrete cover; set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift; lap and splice bars to the specified lap length; check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour; cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder. What we are looking for: • Own basic tools such as pliers, tie hook, tape and level • Aware of concrete cover and tolerance requirements • Valid site safety card and PPE (helmet, boots, gloves) Full-time, day shift. $3,200 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
