Urgent requirement: crawler crane operator (Virginia)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a crawler crane operator in Southampton County, Virginia. Ideal candidate: • Physically fit to climb ladders and work long shifts • Strong attention to safety and load limits • Proven experience on mobile, tower or overhead cranes The role involves park up the crane, stow the jib and isolate at end of shift; carry out pre-start checks on the crane, wire ropes and hook block; work out the load weight and the lifting radius; fit the counterweights and check the ground bearing pressure; grease the slew ring and inspect the wire rope for broken strands; follow hand signals and radio calls from the banksman or slinger. 6+ years on the tools preferred. $3,500 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
